A classic in the Anglo-Saxon world, today international, the Club Sandwich was already served in the famous Saratoga Club House in New York in 1899, but it is even more famous for being the favorite food of Edward VIII of England.
The first Club Sandwich recipe was published in 1903 in Isabel Gordon Curtis’ Good Housekeeping cookbook, and basically remains unchanged today.
